Final Week

Finally Learning reflection 

       I had a lot of knowledges  in a Discourse Approach in Reading class and I learned lots of lessons. As follows 

      

Recount

       First lesson. I learned about a recount. In a recount we reconstruct past experience.

Purpose of a recount:  to tell what happened.


       The lesson can help me to use language to keep the past alive and help us to interpret experience. I had a skill to write about past experience. My problem of the lesson is vocabulary.

Naratives

Purpose of a recount:  This lesson I learned about naratives. It's tell about the writer's reflections on experience.

       I learned about Secrets story and also made the video by group. It was very exciting.

       My problems of the lesson are my skill in reading and vocabulary, too.

Descriptive

   

Purpose of a descriptive:  Descriptive text is a text which says what a person, a thing or a place is like.

       This lesson, I learned about description Komodo Dragon, Budapest and Prague. I like this lesson because I learned about using words to describe an animal, place and also get knowledges about new things that I didn't know.

      My problem of this lesson is some vocabularies.

Procedure

Purpose of a procedure:  to tell the reader how to do or make something.

      This lesson, I learned about making some foods or drinks and write cooking step in English. I also made cooking video by my self. I liked to cook so much. 

      My problem of this lesson is a little of vocabulary but I think I'm OK in this lesson.

Comparison and Contrast

 Purpose of Comparison and Contrast :  to presents similarities between two or more things, differences between two or more things, or both similarities and differences.

       This lesson was so hard for me because I had to remember many words that is markers. So, it's my problem of this lesson. 

Cause and Effect

Purpose of Comparison and Contrast :  to show how the facts or concepts result due to other facts, events or concepts.

      This lesson was very hard for me, too. My problems of this lesson are words signal and didn't clear in contents. I think if I cam remember words signal or had a high reading skill, I would understand more. 

Definition and Classification

Purpose of Definition and Classification :  This lesson helps you identify and understand texts of academic reading.

       This lesson, I learned about finding definition and categorize the texts. This is one lesson that it's so hard because it has many markers. I cannot remember in all words and it's my problem of thislesson.

Exemplification

Purpose of Exemplification :  This lesson is about exemplificaton writing.

       I learned about ways to organize an exemplification text. Some writers need several examples to sufficiently explain their main idea. There are transition words and phrases such as For example, for instance, such as, like, in particular, in fact. 

Problem and Solution

      This lesson has many list of problem-solution markers. The words may differ in mening to some extent, but I can learn differences in this lesson.

       My problem of this lesson is finding problem and solution in passages. 

       Finally, I want to say thank you my teacher for well teaching. I had lots of knowledges for this subject. I think my reading skill is improved. This subject is very important for me because it will helps my academic reading in present and future.
